When Aequoras founder Lisa saw how harsh cleaning chemicals played havoc with their tank water bio cycle in country Queensland, she knew she had to delve deeper into the affect of chemicals not just on our environment but also our skin and overall health.
Aequora was developed with the intent of creating a truely non toxic range of skincare for not just women but also men. The products had to be environmentally friendly - Lisa and her family value and respect the land and live on acreage, understanding the impact of chemicals on our environment first hand.
In her studies she found the incredible potency of Australian Natives, in particular Kakadu Plum (Terminalia Ferdinandiana). Kakadu plum flows through most of the range and is one of the richest sources of vitamin C and is therefore incredible for the skin especially in relation to brightening.
You will notice Lisa's keen eye for design, this comes from 25 years as an interior designer. The simplicity of this range, the efficacy and the transparency makes it the perfect range for men and women wanted a simple yet affective system, which is non toxic, protects our environment and is cruelty free.
All products have been certified by the Safe Cosmetics Australia are Non Toxic - cruelty Free and Vegan Friendly. They even have a recycle programme where you can earn free product by recycling your bottles.

Interview with Founder Lisa Egglestone
1. Why did you develop this range and why organic? I moved to Australia 8 years ago now with my family and soon realised that living ‘down under’ and adapting to a more challenging climate meant that my skincare routine was going to play a more important role in my life. We live on acreage in Queensland and respect the land we live on. Living in a rural location, we rely on thank water and have a bio cycle system which means we only use earth friendly products in our household. I fell in love with the Australian flora and fauna and went on to study and gain qualifications in organic skincare and essentials oils in business. Being a Mother I wanted to produce a range of natural skincare that would protect and nourish not only my skin but my daughter’s skin as well. It was a ‘no-brainer’ that Aequora would be 100% natural and contain certified organic ingredients and absolutely no toxic ingredients at all. 2. What is your difference? Having moved from the other side of the world I was astounded by the resilience of the native plants here in Australia and how they have developed to withstand the harshest conditions. Through my studies I learnt that Australian native plants, trees, flowers and fruit contain the very properties required to survive and once extracted into pure essential oils and native botanical extracts, they combine together to form incredible skincare benefits. I knew that Aequora would be a brand that focussed on incorporating the highest quality Australian Native Botanical ingredients into our formulations to provide the best in antioxidant rich, nourishing skincare. 3. Do you have a favourite ingredient and why? I am always amazed at the highly potent properties of Kakadu Plum, which is why it features across our range of Australian Botanical skincare. A true Australian ‘gem’ containing the highest natural source of Vitamin C in the world! Research also shows that Kakadu Plum has incredible antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties and the amazing healing properties date all the way back to traditional medicine where the plums were used as an antiseptic or soothing balm for limbs. My other two favourites that I include in the majority of Aequora’s products are Lilly Pilly and Quandong. Again, these Australian botanical ingredients contain amazing properties both with a high Vitamin C content fabulous for improving the firmness of the skin, great anti-ageing effects and helping to keep skin looking radiant and youthful naturally.
My Aequora Experience
The Serum is amazing, I am really looking forward to seeing the results from the Kakadu and it is loaded with Hyaluronic Acid and vitamins C, B5 and B3. It is very light and absorbs quickly so I would recommend this one for those who like a light serum, it is ideal for under makeup and also one for the guys as the fragrance is a very light citrus (natural of course). It is ideal for those who want to address sun damage but also need hydration.
The Brightening facial oil is perfect for the last step before bed, rich and golden with omega 6 and 9, antioxidants and vitamin C and E.
I love the body lotion and wash, these are 2 categories I highly recommend going non toxic in as they go over your entire body, by switching to non toxic body wash and lotion you are reducing your toxic load significantly.
The body scrub - well Picture this - Sweet Almond Oil is your first ingredient, followed by Apricot Kernel Oil, Coconut Oil and then you have you blend of oils - lavender, lemon there is even Kakadu plum, all in a base of sugar to give your body a buff and your soul a big warm hug. Your body is going to glow - in fact you will have to make it a weekly ritual. I know I am.
The hand cream is delicious and such a must right now when are washing our hands so much, rich in shea butter and the natural oils of lavender and lemon are so uplifting.
I definitely recommend this range for the guys. It's simple, yet jam packed with active ingredients. The recycle programme is also a great initiative - you can find out more about that on the Aequora Website.
It's also a great one to add into a current system to boost what you are already doing.. If you are currently only cleansing and moisturising, adding in the serum and face oil will have a huge impact on your skin.
